5.0 out of 5 stars Like the mist that flows ooer stream and vale., June 20, 2008
By froggeh (Wiganer in Sweden) - See all my reviews
As a user of this cable, I find some of the previous reviews incredibly insulting. I bought 3 of these wonderful cables, and they fit my decor perfectly. We have Louis Vuitton Wallpaper in black and blue, and there was no other patch cable that could come close to the amazing match we have achieved. Even SWMBO can tell the difference, from the kitchen, in our apartment in Monaco, where she lives with Arthur, our old cable dealer ;(
Anyway I have the last laugh, as I get to hear these babies in peace!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm naming both of my children Denon., June 20, 2008
By MSA (Baltimore, MD) - See all my reviews
I was told by fertility doctors 10 years ago that I would never be able to conceive. I bought this cable a few months ago and blammo! I'm pregnant! With twins! Worth every cent. I can't wait until the kids are old enough to hear this story.

1.0 out of 5 stars What the?, June 20, 2008

I accidentally dropped one end of my Denon cable into a glass of Tuscan whole milk I was drinking. Later when I finished my milk (yeah, I still drank it; should I not have done that?), my right arm (lost in an accident in 1987) spontaneously grew back.

Is that normal?

3.0 out of 5 stars They're good but not as good as..., June 20, 2008
Oh course I used the Denon cables, they're OK and I think they're fine for noddy tasks like hooking up printers and routers to other routers, but to really turn cabling into an art form you need to by Pear Anjou cables!

A pair of 12 foot P.A. speaker cables will set you back a small sum of around $7000, a mere snip, not just nearer to JC, but actually a prime spot next to the Lord himself, with a lazy boy recliner and Mary herself massaging those cares away....

( I am dealy serious! Pear Anjou cables really are $7000 for a pair of 12 foot speaker cables, don't believe me look 'em up in Google. )

4.0 out of 5 stars Cable? Nay, essence of life!, June 20, 2008
By A. Hedstrom "arnehed" (New Jersey, USA) - See all my reviews

Initially I was skeptical, but after reading some reviews and seeing the discount, I could not resist. You've got to spend it to save it, people.

After the Denon helicopter and armed delivery guards left, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed; Do I deserve a cable so supreme? Is my music worthy to be transported across such a sublime linkage? These thought were racing thru my mind even before I open the silver case with the ivory inlay. When I mustered enough courage to lift the lid, I am not ashamed to admit I pee'ed myself at what I saw. Pictures don't do it justice, the Denon AKDL1 is beautiful. As I reached for it, I became aware of a low humming noise coming from the cable. It was warm to the touch and seemed to pulse with energy. It actually moved in my hand, slowly writhing as if seeking sound and music to improve with its touch.

It was then that I realized I was tap dancing. This is strange, because I dont know how to tap dance... I honestly can't even keep a beat, but there I was dancing like Fred Astaire. I began to realize other improvement in myself, just by holding the cable. I can now speak Farsi, drive a Zamboni, paint by numbers, and wait patiently in line at the Post Office; all skills I never had before!

I couldn't wait to plug this cable in and bask in its glory. I looked for an outlet on my old Radioshack record player (I have been meaning to upgrade..) and there was an RJ45 port *where there had never been before*. I plugged it in right away and then dropped the cable. I had to. It instantly began to bend time and space around it. I tried to scream, but instead I belted out an aria from La Boehme, inadvertently I might add. I turned to run, scared out of my wits (something else I never had before) and executed a perfect entrechat (in the style of Vaganova's method). It seems everything about me was now musical, and artistic; even my very soul.

This is not a cable... this Denon AKDL1 is the essence of humanity. Get yours before you devolve in the pond scum that you are.

Minus one star for the blasé color.

5.0 out of 5 stars An experience rivaling heaven itself, June 20, 2008
First of all no, $499 is NOT too much to spend for a cable, let alone a intricately crafted and flawless piece of perfection. I don't have this cable personally, but pitched in on a group-buy and we're currently sharing possession, taking turns. My buddy Raulo has it right now. We've laid Himalayan silk (woven in the dark by ancient enlightened Tibetan monks, lest the precious threads lose their purity...don't worry about the cost, it's worth it) atop priceless Persian pillows along the cable's path. For fear of any disturbance, both his kids and pets live outside in the pop-up camper while he has the cable. All furniture is removed from the room, the air vents are closed to minimize dust movement and create a more pure atmosphere for audio-perfection. We have silk booties we slip over our shoes as we don friction-free smocks. That's when we start feeling the giddy anticipation of the first note. Hitting that play button is... well, it's indescribable.

All of this may seem to be a bit over the top, but once those sweet, sweet decibels emanate righteously through his speakers and penetrate your eardrums, over and over again, the sound waves of pleasure and joy fill your soul to nigh overflowing. Color itself seems to be a physical manifestation of emotion, a spectrum of intensity! 4 more days and it becomes my turn to use the cable.

4 more days.

Whip out your credit card and by this S.O.B. -- you'll regret it forever if you don't.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth every penny all 50,000 of them, June 20, 2008
This cable is nothing short of pure ecstasy. From the military grade high quality copper to the tough durable shoelace-like armor that surrounds it. They've gone as far as adding the directional arrows so that way you don't put it on backwards which you wouldn't want to do that, trust me. I had to put off a car and insurance payment to buy this herculean cable, but it was all worth it considering ill never have to buy another cable again. it was too bad it didn't fit the dvd player (oops) but im still keeping it for when zombies attack or the aliens come down, im sure itll come in handy, i mean for the price it better take off some heads and stuff.

If time travel is your thing, there is just no way to get the flux capacitor to fire correctly without this cable. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars One size fits all!, June 20, 2008
OK, so basically this thing now runs my car. I was getting some lag using my datalogging cable from the EEC to the laptop which wreaks havoc when plotting AFR curves at 5000 rpm with 9PSI of boost.

Anyway get this. We had the car on the dyno and normally it only puts down 430HP to the wheels. Apparently it is spinning the alternator with surplus energy!! I mean hey, my supercharger is driven by the same belt but Holy Smokes I didn't know these things made so much power.

So being the handy man I am I just tossed the laptop, supercharger and basically the engine. I just fabricated a mount from the alternator directly to the transmission and run it off a 12V battery!!!

With the surplus power it has I just daisy chained two alternators and one drives the car, the other charges the battery.

How about that? Yes, $500 is a good price considering I'm not spending $100 a week on GAS ANYMORE!! Plus I sold my engine and supercharger for about $5K, basically pocketed $4500!! BOOOYAA!

ssshhhh, don't ask me how much horsepower I'm making now. Just roll up and hit it and watch the tail lights!
